Smartasses Magazine Top 100 - Female EmpowermentRebecca Romijn Bio – Smartasses Magazine Rebecca Alie Romijn (born November 6, 1972) is an American actress and former fashion model. She is of Dutch and English descent. Romijn attended the University of California at Santa Cruz where she studied music. She married actor John Stamos in 1998, and eventually used the name Rebecca Romijn-Stamos in both her personal and professional life. The couple divorced in 2005. Romijn later married actor Jerry O’Connell in 2007 and the couple welcomed twin daughters in 2008.

During the summer following her freshman year in 1991 at the University of California at Santa Cruz, Romijn began her career modeling and did not return for her sophomore year. She has modeled for brands such as Anna Molinari and Giorgio Armani on the runway, along with the likes of supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington. Romijn later became the host of MTV’s House of Style from 1998 to 2000, and in 1999, she appeared in the film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. She also had a recurring role on the NBC series Just Shoot Me, and had her first major movie role as Mystique in 2000’s X-Men and the franchise’s subsequent sequels. Romijn had her first leading role in Brian De Palma’s film Femme Fatale, and has also starred in movies such as Rollerball, The Punisher and Phantom Halo. In 2007, she starred on the television series Ugly Betty, as well as the short lived ABC series Eastwick in the 2009. Romijn has also made notable guest appearances on Chuck, the Adult Swim live-action show NTSF:SD:SUV, Friends, Drawn Together, and The Cleveland Show. Between June and September 2013, she starred in TNT’s series King & Maxwell, and as of 2014, began starring as Eve Baird, the guardian of the eponymous group in The Librarians, a direct spin-off of The Librarian film series. During that same era, she also served as host of GSN’s original series and reality show Skin Wars.

Romijn was asked by Elle magazine in April 2002, whether making Femme Fatale had given her any new ideas about her sexuality. She said, “You know, in my early twenties I wondered if I was interested in women and so I kind of, well … did my homework. And it turns out I’m pretty straight.” In addition to her film ventures, Romijn has also recorded music, performing a cover of Prince’s Darling Nikki for the 2005 album Electro Goth Tribute to Prince. She was also featured on the song Color Me Love for RuPaul’s eighth studio album Realness in 2015.

Why we think she’s hot:

There’s no mystique about it. Rebecca Romijn is the quintessential California girl… with or without Blackie Parrish attached to her hip. This blonde-haired blue-eyed former fashion model can certainly play rollerball with us anytime she wants.
